Grant Colley

Grant began serving Heritage UMC as Chancel Choir Director in spring 2016.

While some of you know Grant as one of your friendly neighborhood rocket scientists working on the Atlas program, he has been a member of Heritage UMC since the spring of 2010.  You may have seen him from time to time playing trumpet accompanying the Chancel Choir or the Chancel Chimes Handbells.  In addition to singing bass for the Chancel Choir, he sings with the Heritage Hymns men's vocal ensemble, and with the HUMC praise band, Elevation.  He currently is trumpet section lead for the VFW Band of Colorado, and principal tuba for the Colorado Frontier Army Band (civil war era brass band).  Although he now plays any brass instrument with three valves, he started playing trumpet in the 5th grade.  He has been singing in various choirs since 9th grade.  Grant received the John Phillip Sousa Award his senior year in high school, as well as his high school music department's senior music award.  Although music was not his college major, he was none the less inducted as a member of the Phi Mu Alpha honorary music fraternity.  As you can see music has been, and continues to be a large part of Grant's life, and he believes it is one of those gifts that must be shared.
